Campus Modernization

Castilleja's plans to modernize campus and increase enrollment have been in the works for over a decade. We are thrilled for this new phase of Castilleja's history to begin. Take a look at our new learning hubs below.

CENTER FOR LEADERSHIP & IMPACT

The ACE Center, which supports student community engagement, leadership development, and global education at Castilleja, will be equipped with a state-of-the art video conference space, enabling a robust program of speakers and collaboration with peers and global partners.

LIBRARY

The ACE Center and the Library will share a building, enhancing their meaningful partnership. With a spacious, light-filled open space, flexible meeting rooms, quiet study areas, and cutting-edge new media resources, the new library will inspire faculty and librarians to collaborate and to further student intellectual curiosity and independence that define the Castilleja experience.

ROBOTICS AND MAKER SPACE HUB

Our new Robotics and Maker Space hub will become a crossroads between science and design thinking and between Middle School and Upper School. Here, Upper School students will continue building and coding award-winning robots while collaborating and mentoring younger classmates. Surrounded by glass walls, this new hub will create a steady and transparent flow of ideas.

STEM SPACES HUB

With flexible teaching spaces for innovative pedagogy, an area for individual and small-group research, and a science deck for outdoor experiments, this hub will help us recruit outstanding faculty and forge partnerships with local colleges and universities. The net-zero building will reach new sustainability goals, trackable through interactive dashboards, and the data will be analyzed in classes such as Global Climate Change, physics, and statistics, making learning impactful.

OPEN-AIR ARTS DECK

The updated visual arts classrooms with a dedicated printmaking studio and gallery space will be situated around an open-air arts deck. Teachers will be able to take their classes outdoors for plein-air studies. The new space will inspire students to set aside quiet time to work independently and to appreciate nature as an important part of learning and self-discovery.
